We base our points of unity on those of the Anti-Racist Action Network
The Anti-Racist Action (ARA) Network consists of people from all different backgrounds, with a lot of different viewpoints. With countless ARA chapters out there, it’s not surprising that no two are alike! What we all agree on, however, is the following:
Whenever fascists are organizing or active in public, they must be opposed. The rise of MAGA authoritarianism over the past decade proves that tyranny cannot be thwarted simply by ignoring it. Never let the Nazis have the street!
This doesn’t mean we never go to court and it doesn't mean we completely disregard the law. But the fact is that American law enforcement institutions and the judiciary still uphold tyranny, white supremacy, and the status quo. In other words, the arms of the state are unsurprisingly dedicated to working against those who resist state oppression. As such, we must rely on ourselves to protect ourselves and stop fascism.
In our network and in the anti-fascist movement more broadly, there are many different groups and individuals of varying sociopolitical philosophies. We will never agree about everything, and the ability to disagree openly is something that must be cherished. But in this movement and this moment in history, an attack on one is an attack on all. We need only look to the past to see how factionalism cripples resistance movements: First they came for the communists, but I did not speak out, for I was not a communist...
We support bodily autonomy and full reproductive freedom. This means access to birth control, including safe and legal abortions. We support the rights of trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people to exist openly and unafraid. The Iron Front stands prepared to do our part in the building of a popular movement against racism, sexism, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, discrimination against the disabled, the oldest, the youngest, the poorest, and any and all oppressed people. We believe the means to prosper must not be monopolized by a class, party, race, creed, or any other exclusive cadre. We seek a free, just, and equitable society.
